What is Coaching?
Coaching is “partnering with clients in a thought-provoking and creative process that inspires them to maximize their personal and professional Potential.”

The Coach holds a psychologically safe space by demonstrating rapport, presence, awareness, listening, questioning, and exploration – for the client to ‘discover themselves’ – assuming the client is ‘whole’ and completely ‘functional’, is creative and resourceful, is motivated and focused – to take progressive actions, in line with what they value the most and brings them most joy and fulfillment in life. The success of the coaching depends on the clients’ ability to move forward, willingness to challenge themselves while being open and honest in their thought provoking self exploration during coaching. The coach manages the ‘process’ and the client manages the ‘progress’. The client is solely responsible for the decisions and actions and must be able to be accountable for achieving their own objectives.
What is ‘not’ Coaching?
Coaching is not telling someone what to do. It is not delving into one’s past experience to guide others through one’s own example. It’s not offering solutions based on one’s expertise. It’s not trying to therapeutically relieve the trauma of someone’s past. These approaches, which may be effective in specific cases, belong to domains such as mentoring, consulting, and therapy.
How is Coaching different from mentoring, consulting, counseling and therapy?
Mentoring is when someone shares their knowledge, skills, and experience with another person to help them to progress. Mentors facilitate the personal and professional growth of their mentees by providing guidance, support, knowledge and learning insights basis similar or different paths that they have walked before.
Consulting someone, mostly organizationally, requires that the Consultant provider has the experience and expertise in the challenge faced by the client. Consulting is a future focused direct solution-based approach whereas coaching is an exploratory awareness creation approach.
Therapy often dives into deep-seated emotional issues to work on personal healing or trauma recovery. Therapy is more ‘backward’ looking, looking to find the source of problems today that stem from experiences in past life.
Coaching is a journey, in which the client discovers themselves and their solutions. Having discovered their own solutions, they own these solutions and become committed and accountable for the solutions. A coach may explore the past, family life, or emotions of their client in the service of understanding the client’s origin stories being told about the present and future, however, a coach does not diagnose nor does a coach offer treatment. Through observations, a coach can make a formulation on what the client needs. If for any reason Coach feels other therapeutic professional services are required, the coach will request the client to get the help they might need.
How do I decide if I need Coaching?

If scenarios like these, depict your current state, and you are willing and able, to change to your desired state, you may want to engage a coach. The coach offers a psychologically safe and non-judgmental space to hold the mirror for the client and asks open-ended questions to explore client’s current situation, goals, and challenges, focusing on whether they want to actively work towards a future-oriented goal and if they are ready to take responsibility for making changes, while also identifying if their issues might be better addressed by therapy due to deep-rooted emotional concerns; clearly explain the difference between coaching and therapy, and encourage them to reflect on their readiness for a coaching relationship. The success of the coaching depends on the clients’ ability to move forward, willingness to challenge themselves while being open and honest in their thought provoking self exploration during coaching. The coach manages the ‘process’ and the client manages the ‘progress’. The client is solely responsible for the decisions and actions and must be able to stay accountable for achieving their own objectives.
What if I want to ‘try it out’ before embarking on a full journey?
For those who are willing and able to move from their current state to a desired state, but aren’t sure if they are ready for a coach, we offer a complementary ‘introduction and discovery’ session to empower the client to make the right choice.
What if I want both coaching and consulting services?
Whether you are an individual or an organization – you can either explore Tailored Journeys or have separate contracts for coaching and consulting. Having separate contracts for coaching and consulting allows the client not to be confused about the role of ICF professional. At a given point in time of the session, there is only one role played at a time, not both. This is also important regarding the public view of the Coaching profession being distinct from other professions for example therapy, counseling, Consulting etc.
What is a Tailored Journey?
A tailored journey is a ‘client centric’ approach, customized to the organization / team / individual’s unique needs, goals, learning styles and pace. The client actively participates in the need assessment process to uncover goals, challenges and aspirations and co-create the solutions to achieve specific goals. Depending upon the context, need and intended goal, there can be a combination of coaching and consulting solutions and frameworks integrated for significant progress and sustainable impact.
How do I book an appointment?

How and when do I make a payment?
The payment is made, based on the terms and conditions of the contract, signed prior to initiation of the coaching / consulting engagement.
